6 Weeks-Holiday-Resolution - Achieved … or down the drain?
Hi!
So while I was and still am on my 6 weeks break from the hustle and bustle of the city life and from the human race (as in a real race…race for time, race for rest, race to sleep, race against due dates, etc), I gave myself a list of things to accomplish by the end of the 6 weeks.
Obviously traveling is not on the list due to my poor financial status. But!!! It is also due very much to the geographical factor. You see, the place I’m at right now does not really help on cutting down the traveling expenses. The poor me would have to transit by flight to Kuching or Kuala Lumpur first to reach wherever the chosen destination might be. (which would mean air ticket $$$ x 2!)
Anyway, let’s stray away from my woes of not being able to travel in the span of 6 weeks and let’s focus on the NOW. What matters is NOW. (that sounds so much like something out of a motivational speaker’s mouth).
I challenge myself to:
1. Finish reading Roald Dahl’s short stories (almost there…)
2. Finish reading The Preacher (done!)
3. Finish reading the books by Agatha Christie (far from being done … but am pushing myself!)
4. Learn to bake cupcakes (done!!)
5. Learn to bake anything other than cupcakes (done!!!)
6. Learn to cook (only fried rice… i guess that amounts to = done!!!!!)
7. Start reading the bible (because the whole thing about Israelites not being able to claim any land as their own confuses me and I feel as if I needed the answer badly…at the beginner stage. But I’m making this a 2012 goal!)
8. Bring back the music in me (done! But I didn’t do as much as I had hoped. I should continue to work more on this.)
9. Learn all I can about serial killers. (done! But I only did this in my 2nd week. Perhaps I should take it more seriously -_-”)
10. Learn things that I’m supposed to learn to prepare myself for work. (defintely my worst nightmare. I have not done a thing about this. Zilch!)
11. Finish the 2 books of Where’s Wally? (done! One book left to go.)
Yessir! I guess that’s about it. Not too shabby, I think. But it isn’t too good of an achievement either. Gonna work on it, yes yes yes. 2 more weeks to go until reality slaps me hard in the face and sends me flying off to Timbuktu.
